December

December in Retrospect
December came and went faster than ever this year. It feels like Thanksgiving was just last week not Christmas. Since my busy schedule kept me from blogging I thought I would show a little of our December activities.
I unfortunatley didn't take as many pictures as I should have to document everything.
One of our first events of December was watching Riley sing at Our Lady of the Snow. It is a shrine that has beautiful Christmas lights every year.
One of my favorite events every year is the preschool Christmas program. This was Maggie's second year and next year will be Xavier's first. It is such a delight seeing the children sing there song and preform a little play for us.
Notice the microphone?? During the song Maggie kept leaning over to sing in it. ;)

A tradition at Riley's school is K-3 gets to make gingerbread houses. The parents get together to assemble the "gingerbread houses" a few days before the event. Then everyone sends candy in for the kids to decorate thier house. The kids really enjoy this activity. This was Riley's last year. :(

As room parent I get the priveledge to doing the kids class parties. This year we painted Christmas ornaments for the parents. Then we ended it with some yummy pizza. Since I am SOOO GOOD. We were done 1/2hr early so we played a rousing game of charads.
Finally we went to see Santa Riley's last day of school before the holidays. What a great day we had with the kids. After seeing Santa we went to see BOLT (what a great movie) and went to dinner. I think this will have to be a new family tradition.

Thanksgiving

Oops!
I forgot Thanksgiving.
Since I didn't get to my project today that I was going to post about. A crazy busy week kept me from posting last week. I thought I would back track and post about Thanksgiving.
After our big meal we had to take our walk with Grandpa. It helps digest the turkey.(So you have room for MORE!)

We had such beautiful weather we had to take a tractor ride. LOOK I caught Riley smiling!

Holiday

Cookie Weekend!
Every year my Mom and I have a "cookie weekend". It has become such a traditon that everyone that recieves our creations start asking the 1st of Dec. "Have you had cookie weekend yet?" Well actually our husbands co-workers. ;)

This year I brought Maggie and Xavier to join in on our fun. They love helping in the kitchen so we all had our matching aprons and headed to Grandma's house. This is a 3 day event. Starting Friday afternoon and ending in a fog of flour dust on Sunday evening.

Friday night we started by making the cut out cookies.
On Saturday Mom and I made most of the cookies.
Here is a list:
coffee spice cookie
snickerdoodlesx2
peanut butter kissx2
sugar cookies
milk choc chip
hello dollies
white choc cranberry x2
Mrs Fields mud bars x2(my favs)
eagle brand fudge
white fudge
saltine candy
dipped choc pretzels

On Sunday we finished up with
Cranberry bread
poppyseed bread
perpermint bark
Kifli cookies

Once Riley came down on Sunday we decorated our cut out cookies.
Our beautiful decorated cookies!

After an exhausting weekend this is the table of our hard work. Most of my family thinks we are crazy but love the treats they get at the end. ;)

The results!!

The results of our crafty day!

Pumpkins!!

PUMPKINS!!
Well today was a very fun day. It was my daughters preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch. My oldest was off so school today so we decided to make it a family event.
With a hayride, a fun playground and picking our pumpkins. We had one exhausting but fun day.

Xavier was just as cute as can be today and in front of my camera. Then Riley was hard to find and the pictures are limited. I have this one shot of the back of his head on the hay ride. ;) Just to show evidence of his existance.

What to do with 5 pumpkins!

Well you paint them of course!

Update on Jack ;o)

Jack's Condo!
Well I really felt like Jack's little cage was always full of poo and was just gross. I felt bad for the little guy never getting to run and play. So what did I do? I searched the Wide World Web and found how to make a larger cage for my guy. So just $30 later I have a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 foot cage. With a second level! This took me an entirer day to do. It was a work out to say the least but boy does jack like it. When we put him in he just started chirrping right away!! Now we need to get him a friend.

My poor Blog

Well it has been a while since I have been in my blog. I thought things would be calming down around here but it has gotten crazier (is that a word?)

On a personal note

I have begun my journey to fitness. AGAIN! I had join a physique competition last year and I won MIP woman by losing over 30lbs. Well I have slipped this past winter to gain it back. Partly to a foot injury that given me problems this past year.

So I will be back to a tight diet and at the gym 4+ times a week. So I will keep you updated on my monthly success. I have joined the competition again this year and hoping to win again this year but keep it off this time. ;o)
I do have one listing ending tomorrow.
It was made with the Heather Ross Goldfish in bags fabric. I love this fabric and would love to more but this is the last of it. Don't miss out on such a great deal!! Size 3/4

Meet Jack

I have no will power!!
Well my husband thought it would be fun to go to Petsmart tonight. Well $100 later we walk out with Jack.
Well we actually went to a different store 20 min away to get him. The 1st store only had 1 guinea pig and he was a bit nervous. So we went to a different store to find Jack. Riley picked him first thing. We were going back and forth on name choices and Xavier decided it should be Jack.
We did look at hamsters and thought about a bird. Neither one I was secure in getting for the kids. With a hamster or birds the kids would never be able to play with it. I would be to afraid it would get hurt or lost.
So Jack is Tim's fathers day present. ;o)
Peek a boo
Whatcha doin Willis?

My project today.

Tomorrow is a big day here. My son's school has there annual parish picnic/parade. Since I am resident room mom I am in charge of our class to get ready for the parade. The parade theme this year is holiday and the 2nd grade got 4th of July. Well come to find out the teacher has a work shop and won't be at the parade. So I have to take all the children to Mass and then get them to there parade post. I can barely wrangle up my 8yr old much less a whole class!
The sploches on the outside are the kids hand prints to resemble fireworks. :o)

Now we find out that the Mayor will be in the parade and we will be following him. Keep in mind I live in St Louis City. So this is a big deal for our mayor to come to our tiny parade. So wish me luck on keeping the kids in line for parade.

Twister

What an interesting afternoon we had here today in the Gate Way to the West. Normally here in the City of St Louis Tornados are few. They mostly occure in the surrounding counties. My wonderful husband called me from the 11th floor of his building to tell me there is a tornado warning. So the kids and I went to the center of the house to play board games. Since we have dish we pretty much had no TV to tell us about the threat or when it was over.

Turning to the trusty wirerless I was on line watching the storm pass over us live. ;o) Well nothing touched down here in the city. Just small ones out in the counties. I don't think there was any damage in the area.

I have been through many tornados in my life so I pretty much know the warning signs and when to duck and cover. Heck my brother was even picked up by one. He was out with his umbrella and he was lifted about 2in before he let go of the umbrella. I can still see his face when he got inside.

The kids didn't mind. They got mom with out any distraction to play board games in the middle of our house(dinning room).

Keep tune for tomorrow for a big annoucement!!

Diving in...

Finally I am diving into the blogging world. Please forgive me as I figure all of this out. I am not the best journalist in the world. Probably not even the best on my block. I am a very good gabber though. So you may step into a weird ramble of mine on occasion.

Well here goes nothing...My name is Jamie. I am the mother of 3 great kids.

Riley who is wise beyond his years. ;o) (He is in that 8yr old know it all phase.) Riley is a very sweet, loving and kind person. I dread the day the first woman who breaks his heart.

Maggie the belle of the ball. My princess Maggie is 4 and thinks everything pink and purple is a must have. Though she hasn't learned the finer details of being a lady and can be as crewd as her brothers. Maggie loves to sing, dance and very silly.

Xavier my little man. Oh what to say about Xavier. He is the normal 2 1/2 year old boy. Rambunctious, ornery and there isn't a minute I don't have to keep my eye on him. Xavier is the comedian of the family. It is hard to be mad at him. He will just give you one of his many looks and you just give in.

I have been married to my best friend for almost 14yrs. I don't know what I would do with out his love and support. I have accomplished many things with his help and I wouldn't be where I am now with out him. Thank you honey for everything you do for me.

Tim and me

Me-I am the designer and seamstress behind RMX Designs. I came to designing and sewing a little over 2yrs ago while searching for an outfit for Maggie for her 2nd birthday. We were having a JoJo birthday and I couldn't find anything for her to wear. Then I find custom overalls with JoJo on them. Well with our tight budget I couldn't come to pay that much for them. I asked a friend who could sew to help me make them. Well after that my husband told me I need to learn to do that on my own. THAT is how it all started. I taught myself to sew and went from there.

Well that is it for my first post and I hope you come back to get to know me better.
